ISLAMABAD – The Federal Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, on Wednesday declared one-day national mourning today over the tragic aircrash. The regular business of the cabinet was also called off till next week. The Federal Cabinet expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic air crash and condoled with the families of aircrew and passengers that were killed in the accident.
The Cabinet also offered Fateha for the son of KP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain who was assassinated by terrorists few days back. The Cabinet also expressed sympathies for the affected families in the flood-affected areas of Balochistan and some other parts of the country.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister along with Chief Ministers of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and some Federal Ministers took an aerial view of the place crash site.
He expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the unfortunate accident and issued instructions to the relevant organisations for holding a high level inquiry to determine the causes of the tragedy.
After the announcement of the one-day mourning, the Prime Minister also cancelled his visit to flood affected areas of Balochistan scheduled for Thursday.
